Enrollment & Registration
If your child received a notification email from their NYC DOE MySchools account, that means they are already enrolled in our school! You can visit us on September 3 between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, or on September 4 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. If those times do not work for you, don’t worry! Your child will bring home the necessary forms on the first day of school.
If you would like your child to join our school and they are not yet enrolled, please either add them to our school's waitlist through their MySchools account or reach out to a Family Welcome Center for enrollment assistance. For more information about Family Welcome Centers, please visit: Family Welcome Center Information.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child!
First Day of School 24-25SY
Thursday, August 29, 2024
Dear Students, Parents, and Families,
We hope everyone had a relaxing and safe summer. We are excited to welcome our returning students back to AGL for the 2024-2025 school year and to greet our new students, the Class of 2028. The start of the school year brings excitement, new opportunities, and the chance to grow and develop. We can’t wait to celebrate our graduating seniors, the Class of 2025.
The first day of school is Thursday, September 5, 2024. All students should arrive at school by 8:10 AM (Broome Street) to receive their new Fall semester programs. Incoming students will also have their ID photos taken. Students will be given a packet of important documents to take home, complete with their parents/guardians, and return to the school. It is crucial that we have updated contact information for all of our students and parents/guardians, so please ensure these forms are completed.
This school year, we will continue to strengthen our academic program with a focus on developing the necessary skills for success in Advanced Placement (College Level) classes, while also fostering social, emotional, and academic skills for independent learning. We are thrilled to announce a new section of AP Statistics for 11th graders, alongside our existing section for 12th graders. Additionally, our 10th graders will be participating in AP Seminar for 10th grade ELA, which will enhance their ability to find and utilize evidence from experts and present their perspectives effectively through writing and multimedia.
AGL will continue its participation in the NYC DOE Future Ready NYC (FRNYC) program, offering students opportunities for career-connected learning, work-based programs, internships, college classes, and earning industry credentials in Data Science. Data Science is a dynamic field that integrates computer technology, artificial intelligence, mathematics, and engineering to address real-world challenges across various industries. We are committed to facilitating visits to colleges starting in 9th grade, increasing students earning College Now credits, and providing paid work-based learning experiences!
We look forward to seeing all of our students on September 5th and to a fantastic school year ahead!
Sincerely,
Jacqueline D’Agostino
Principal IA
