College and Career Readiness
At AGL we believe in cultivating students’ strengths, skills and interests as we support them in creating a personalized plan that will successfully transition them into their post-secondary pathway. The center collaborates with AGL teachers, staff and the greater New York community to provide our students with the necessary tools, environment, and exposure to various college and career opportunities that equip them to identify and achieve their post secondary goals.
Students will achieve the best outcome for post secondary life by:
-
All students will graduate with an individualized postsecondary plan.
-
Students will receive the necessary tools to access social and economic mobility through college and career readiness.
-
Students will learn how to adapt to market responsiveness by becoming lifelong learners who continue to upskill and reskill.
-
Students will learn relevant soft(examples) and hard skills(resume building, typing, interviewing) necessary so they are able to compete in a current and future job market.
-
Students will become agents of change and understand how to connect with a larger community by being taught relevant social and emotional skills (self-awareness, self management, decision making etc.).
-
Students will be able to identify and articulate their interests, skills and driving passions and understand how they connect to their future goals.
